Back to Blogging

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="333" caption="Obligatory Picture To Begin Post."]Women's Soccer[/caption] It's been nearly 4 months since I last updated this site which is far from what I planned to do. Originally, my hope was to keep this updated throughout the fall in an attempt to capitalize (but without gaining actual capital...) on the huge amount of readers I picked up while in Europe. Unfortunately, school began, laziness set in, and this site died. I now average a solid 4 (dedicated) readers a day which is a far cry from the 60-ish a day I brought in over the summer. Needless to say, I'm disappointed in myself.

With that in mind, and a long winter break ahead of me, I've decided to start this site up again.

So, what should you expect? Well, I definitely hope to maintain posts about what is going on in my life. Granted, life is no longer as exciting as it was this past summer so until I develop an amazing ability to tell stories you should expect fewer posts along those lines.

I've had a lot floating through my head lately, and I imagine I'll begin to use this blog as a sounding board for these issues. I'm not necessarily looking for comments - though they are always welcome! - but a lot of the writing here will be posted just so that I can attempt to think through whatever topic is on my mind at the time.

Stack of Books

Expect many posts about the (frightening amount of) reading I'll be doing over the next month or so. I've bought, been given, and been loaned a lot of books in the past few months and I've decided to finally sit down and go through them. A number of them I've begun, or browsed through (note that I didn't use the word peruse - but potentially could have) but I'm certain that I'm no more than half-way through any of them. Heck, someday I might even return to Infinite Jest.

If I can muster up the confidence I might even use this site as an attempt to figure out how I feel about a few recent album releases that I have been listening to non-stop. But, don't hold your breath on that one. I suspect there will also be posts about all of the photography I'm doing and if I can find any photos I'm happy with I might actually post a few.

As time goes on you'll likely get to follow my thought process as I debate the relative merits of Teach For America and Grad School. Keep an eye out for those posts, that's when you'll get to see my parents post all-caps comments along the lines of "WHY WOULD YOU EVER THROW AWAY YOUR LIFE TO DO TEACH FOR AMERICA YOU IDIOT!? IF WE KNEW YOU WANTED TO DO THAT WE WOULDN'T HAVE AGREED TO PUT YOU THROUGH COLLEGE YOU @#%&!" It'll be fun - you'll laugh, I'll cry.

So that's roughly what I'm expecting to do with this site. As always, there's a chance it just won't happen - but I'm very optimistic this time around. I sort of had the sense back in August that I wouldn't be able to keep this thing running through the fall. Of course, there's always the possibility that I'll keep this site up but with posts unlike anything mentioned above.

So, here goes nothing...
